Seeing your obgyn during pregnancy?

when should you see you obstetrician? when is the first appointment? I have been seeing my regular Doctor from day one. I am 4 1/2 months prego and I am due in mid Aug. My Doctor has been trying to make an appointment with the obgyn that was refered but I just got a date that was June 6th. Is this normal or really late? 2 months before the baby is born, that seems odd
