Can you explain the whole, "Hot Tub Time Machine" concept to me please?

If I'm in the hot tub and I'm all wet, what happens when I go back in time to a cold climate or one of our Ice Ages? I could freeze to death in my speedos...right? That's not the way that I want to go out.
