Eternal Damnation? Do christians have to believe in it?

I am a Christian but I hardly believe hell is made for humans who barely have controls on what we do, we usually sin out of temptations and lack of strength to withstand it, sometimes, you simply can't believe and the other day you believe, we are inconsistent and God perfectly knows that, hell as for me is for the devils who were Angels and given the power to control their thoughts and actions but failed to stand in complete harmony infront of God and later betrayed HIM, hell is for them not for us, atleast that's what I believe in
