Why do the corals in my tank grow so much?

It's not bad that they're growing, if anything it is good. As long as your corals are okay with low lighting there is nothing wrong with not having metal halide, you just wouldn't be able to have very sensitive corals, they would probably die when you first got them. If everything looks healthy and is growing you don't have any problems.
